A Little Christmas Every Day: Christmas Vignettes

January 2, 2024 by Beth

I didn’t get much sleep last night and my idea was to go back to bed for an hour before work.  Instead, I started looking at Christmas decorations and craft ideas online!  I kept seeing these adorable little arrangements with the word “vignette” in the description.  And I thought to myself, “Hey!  I’ve got some of those!!”

As a matter of fact, I have lots of those at Christmastime…all over my house!  The truth is, I don’t have a mantle or a curio cabinet.  Also, my  husband bolted a HUGE-mongous television to the top of my entertainment center, so I don’t have any nice big spaces in the living room to decorate.  Plus, I have so many Christmas decorations that I never even use them all.  But I am determined to display as many as possible and I do that by grouping them together wherever I can find a spot!

A Little Christmas Every Day:

My Momma painted that Santa and both of the little house gourds on the shelf.  She makes a LOT of my decorations.  I ♥ her!

She also painted the big Santa gourd and the one hanging from the shelf.  I embroidered that “Welcome” pillow myself.  Thank you, thank you.  No really.  Applause isn’t necessary.  ; )

Christmas Vignette 2

This shelf gives me so much aggravation for some odd reason.  It is not unheard of for me to redo it three or four times during the Christmas season.  I’ve never been satisfied with it, no matter how I change it.  And I don’t know why!

Christmas Vignette 4

(My Mom also painted that Santa up there!)

I put various baskets throughout my house…kitchen, hallway, bedrooms, bathroom…no room is really safe from my decorating madness!!

Christmas Vignette 1

Guess who painted that Mommy & Snow Baby gourd.  : )

I also have a cabinet that belonged to my husband’s granny.  Apparently, there was a lot of dumplin’ making going on in this house!  But it doesn’t fit in the kitchen anymore and I use it to store pictures and to have something else to decorate!!

Santa Vignette

I count four Santas and an apple gourd that were made by my Momma!  The Santas were actually displayed in our house when I was growing up.  My mother may have had something to do with my love of all things Christmas!!

Do you have any decorations that you just really love?
