A Little Christmas Every Day

September 7, 2013 by Beth

Merry Christmas Y'all

Did you know that there are only 108 days until Christmas?  I know now, because I just Googled it!  I’m trying not to go into full-blown planning mode right away.  : )

I do feel like I should start unpacking decorations though (and trust me I would, but Super Trooper would give me that look and then I’d get all huffy and it’s just not worth it.  Yet…).  I don’t really get panicky about shopping until a few days before Christmas.  And since I rarely have everything bought at that point, I start spending more money than I should just to get it finished!  I have a feeling I’m not alone in that.

I have to say that Christmas is kind of my “thing”.  It’s my absolute favorite holiday.  I think about it all year long and I always have list upon list of projects and gifts I would like to make, recipes I would like to try, or Christmas traditions I want to start.  I feel pretty accomplished if I can cross a couple of things off of each list!

It would be hard to say when I fell so in love with Christmas.  I know that like most good little children (hehehe), I always liked to get gifts, but that is  not why I enjoy it so much now.  To me, Christmas has always been magical.  I can feel it in the air–that feeling of happiness and joy.  It’s as if all is right with the world for just a little while and it makes my heart smile.  I know the meaning of Christmas.  I know why we celebrate it.  But if you asked me for just one reason why I love Christmas so much, I don’t think I could give you one.  There are just too many!

I’ve decided it would be a wonderful thing to start a Christmas series for That One Mom.  For the next few months, I’ll be sharing favorite Christmas recipes, decorating ideas, crafts, and gift ideas.  I will also be sharing Christmas memories and some of my favorite holiday music.  Of course, I haven’t forgotten the other holidays and important things I need to write about.  I’ll be squeezing all of those in the middle of the Christmas Cheer, so don’t forget to check back each week to see what’s new!!!
