Christmas Round-Up: Christmas Morning Breakfast Ideas!
I’m not sure how things go down in your household, but until just a few years ago, my Christmas morning consisted of hearing voices and waking up to faces that were a half-inch from mine (not my husband) wanting to know if we could get up and open presents…sometimes before 5 AM. God love their little hearts, they never opened any without us though. I walked in more than once to see a little sitting in front of a new toy with a look of awe, but only daring to touch it with the tip of their finger, as if picking it up would make it disappear. It’s enough to melt the heart!
Some mornings my little Christmas angels were starved out and immediately asked for breakfast and other times they crashed with their loot for a mid-morning nap. Christmas breakfast for us has never been a consistent dish. I’ve cooked big breakfasts and made snacks. Sometimes they just pilfer the Sausage Balls as they come out of the oven. More than once, I’ve taken a much smaller dish of those to Christmas dinner than I had intended! Christmas breakfast, for us, could be anything–muffins, bagels, pancakes, sausage biscuits, or even leftovers.
Luckily, I found some fellow bloggers who were happy to recommend all sorts of things that would make an excellent Christmas breakfast. The great thing about bloggers is that we like to share. And share they did!! (Thank you all so much, by the way!) Also, I really did try to narrow it down, but I couldn’t! They are grouped into categories, so maybe that will help you decide which ones you like best. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to try them all though!
**Update: While going back through these, I found that a couple of blogs have shut down for various reasons. As I didn’t want to just leave you hanging, I found some awesome recipes that are similar and included the links for those! Unfortunately, there isn’t a photo of those recipes so please do check them out on their websites and see how delicious they look!!**
