Christmas Eve is one of my favorite days of the year. The excitement of knowing Christmas Day is coming makes me so happy, but it’s really the annual family get-together that totally thrills my soul! It’s been a tradition since I was a kid and I always look forward to it. Seeing my family is wonderful, but we also have an awesome tradition of Christmas Eve appetizers and desserts. In case you don’t know, I’d rather have appetizers than just about any other food. There’s just something about those “little bites” I guess!
It’s really not all that uncommon for us to have an Appetizer night around here, but when the whole family participates, you get a wide variety. Fortunately, I come from a family of skilled home cooks. There is no limit as to what you might get…dips, sandwiches, soups, casseroles, pizzas, flatbreads, cheese and charcuterie plates, seafood…and it’s all good!
I’m always on the lookout for new ideas and if you need food ideas, bloggers are the people to ask! Some very generous people have shared their favorite appetizer recipes and I’ve included a few of my own. These appetizers are great for any holiday, party, game night, or just when you have a craving. Hopefully, they will inspire you to make a few of your own!
