I’m not sure how or when the tradition started, but I can’t recall a Christmas going by without someone giving us some sort of sweet treat. And nothing says sweets quite like chocolate!
This recipe for Rocky Road Fudge came about when my grandmother took a recipe that I used and added a can of sweetened condensed milk. She’s a fabulous cook, so it’s no wonder it turned out so well. It’s also really easy to make and I’m all about easy!
Nan’s Rocky Road Fudge
1 package chocolate flavored candy bark
1 can sweetened condensed milk, 14 oz.
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 cup pecan pieces
Melt the candy bark according to package directions. Make sure it’s all melted and smooth. Add the entire can of sweetened condensed milk. This will cool the chocolate and thicken it up really fast, so make sure you have your other ingredients measured out and ready to pour. Fold in the marshmallows and pecans. Like I said, the chocolate will be thickening, so work fast! Pour the mixture into a dish or pan and spread out. I used an 8×8 inch dish for thicker pieces of fudge, but you can use a 9×13 if you like thinner pieces.
That’s all there is to it. It’s a super simple recipe that should satisfy any sweet tooth. It makes a great gift to give or treat to share at a party. Or just to keep for yourself!
